وفاة أكثر من 20 مهاجرا قرب جزيرة لامبيدوزا الإيطالية

قال مسؤول طبي في جزيرة لامبيدوزا الإيطالية الاثنين، إن أكثر من عشرين مهاجرا لقوا حتفهم نتيجة انخفاض درجة حرارة أجسامهم على متن زورقين لخفر السواحل الإيطاليين، بعد انتشالهم من قارب مطاطي جرفته المياه في البحر.

وجاء في بيان خفر السواحل أن زورقي دورية إيطاليين انتشلا 105 من المهاجرين في وقت متأخر من مساء الأحد، بعد أن انجرف قاربهم في ظروف بحرية صعبة للغاية مع ارتفاع الأمواج إلى ثمانية أمتار، واقتراب درجة الحرارة من الصفر.

وقال مدير قسم الرعاية الصحية في الجزيرة بيترو بارتولو، إن المهاجرين أمضوا نحو 18 ساعة على متن زورقي الدورية الصغيرين لنقلهما إلى لامبيدوزا تتقاذفهم الأمواج العاتية، مما أدى إلى وفاة أكثر من عشرين شخصا نتيجة انخفاض درجة حرارة أجسامهم.
