"أوبر" تنقذ أسطورة سباق الدراجات من الإفلاس

Urbina, an elite athlete and adventurer, read about three Spanish Conquistadors, Juan de Cavall—n, Peraf‡n de Rivera, and Juan V‡squez de Coronado, who in the 1560Õs began a 20-year journey through the beautiful and treacherous mountains of Costa Rica. قال تقرير لشبكة "سي أن بي سي" التلفزيونية إن أسطورة سباق الدراجات لانس أرمسترونغ يدين بالفضل لشركة "أوبر" التي أنقذت عائلته بعدما كلفته فضيحة تناول المنشطات الملايين من الدولارات جراء الدعاوى القضائية والشروط الجزائية.

وتم تجريد أرمسترونغ من ألقابه السبعة في سباق طواف فرنسا للدراجات، مع حظره مدى الحياة من ممارسة أي نشاط متعلق بالرياضة بسبب تناول المنشطات.

وذكر التقرير أن المتسابق الأميركي أعطى مئة ألف دولار لصندوق استشاري استثمر هذه الأموال بشركة "أوبر" عام 2009، وقال الدراج للشبكة التلفزيونية أمس الخميس "أنقذ هذا الأمر عائلتنا".

وأوضح أنه لم يكن على دراية باستثماره في "أوبر" -التي كانت تقدر قيمتها في ذلك الوقت بنحو 3.7 ملايين دولار- عندما أعطى أمواله إلى الصندوق الاستشاري.

وتستعد "أوبر" لفتح باب الاكتتاب العام في 2019، وربما تصل قيمتها إلى 120 مليار دولار.

ولم يوضح أرمسترونغ كم يُقدر استثماره في "أوبر" حاليا، لكنه أشار إلى أنه "كثير للغاية".

وعند سؤاله هل ربح "10 أو 20 أو 30 أو 40 أو 50 مليونا" أجاب الدراج الدولي "إنه أحد هذه الأرقام. مبلغ كبير للغاية".

ونال أرمسترونغ لقب طواف فرنسا سبع مرات، لكن الوكالة الأميركية لمكافحة المنشطات جردته منها كلها عام 2012 بعد اتهامه بأنه العقل المدبر لواحدة من أكثر عمليات تناول المنشطات تعقيدا بالرياضة.

واعترف المتسابق الأميركي بالغش في يناير/كانون الثاني 2013 في مقابلة تلفزيونية مع المذيعة الشهيرة أوبرا وينفري.
